Road Mesh® is a single layer of high strength biaxial reinforcement used in road pavings. Its 3-dimensional structure allows the road paving connection layers to link together, ensuring an interaction that permits an immediate and excellent transfer of the road paving load to the reinforcement. Road Mesh® is normally used for the construction and maintenance of roads where unfavourable conditions exist, and where, consequently, traditional design solutions are not possible. It is normally installed in the base of the bituminous layer where the stresses in the layer are typically higher. Road Mesh® absorbs and reduces the higher stress levels in the layer caused by the presence of failures in the bitumen (or by heavy road traffic).
Road Mesh® is made from double-twist 8x10 cm wire mesh, with mechanical characteristics greater than those required by UNI-EN 10223-3, and with transversal bars placed at intervals of approx. 16 cm. It is supplied in rolls with a length of approx. 25m and a width of approx. 2 or 4 metres.
